LA DERNIÈRE LUEUR, EXPOSICIÓN EN LA CHAPELLE DES CALVARIENNES FRANCIA [216]

“La Dernière Lueur”
Proyecto realizado para el centro de creación contemporánea “La Chapelle des Calvairiennes”, Mayenne (Francia) y comisariado por Mathias Courtet. Exposición conformada por diversas instalaciones distribuidas a lo largo de la Chapelle. Haciendo uso de la propia arquitectura de la Chapelle, y reproduciendo a escala real y reinterpretando, como si de una escenografía se tratara, los elementos decorativos del edificio y diversos fragmentos del altar, un elemento escenográfico –hoy en desuso- construido para proyectar un mensaje, una idea, una simbología. Esta exposición es una investigación sobre los conceptos de representación y fraude visual, a través del uso del preciosismo y del trampantojo, ámbitos en los que el ojo es seducido a través del dibujo, simulando la madera mediante el papel y la acuarela, algo que a su vez funciona como metáfora de lo asumido como real y sólido cuando en realidad se trata de una pantomima.

Project realized for the center of contemporary creation «La Chapelle des Calvairiennes», Mayenne (France) and curated by Mathias Courtet. Exposition made up of diverse facilities distributed along the Chapelle. Making use of Chapelle’s own architecture, reproducing on a real scale and reinterpreting the decorative elements of the building and various fragments of the altar, as if it were a set design, a stage element – now in disuse – built to project a message, an idea, a symbology. This exhibition is an investigation of the concepts of representation and visual fraud, through the use of preciosity and trompe l’oeil, areas in which the eye is seduced through drawing, simulating wood through paper and watercolor, something that at the same time it works as a metaphor of what is assumed to be real and solid when in reality it is a pantomime.
